What's new in vRealize Automation 6.2

What’s new in vRealize Automation 6.2

VMware vRealize Automation 6.2 is the latest version of VMware’s cloud automation solution, formerly known as vCloud Automation Center, and now part of the new vRealize suite. It is not just a rename, it includes some interesting improvements and enhancements.

vRealize Automation 6.2 provides infrastructure and application service delivery with a self-service portal and policy-based governance. The latest release offers greater vRealize Operations integration and can now display service health badges in the administrator’s view, and also give IT admins the ability to easily reclaim under-used or oversized virtual machines leading to CapEx and OpEx savings.

This version is coming out only 6 weeks after the release of 6.1. It is intended as a maintenance release to fix a number of bugs. But vRealize Automation 6.2 is also intended to introduce some new functionality to complement recently announced changes to vRealize Operations.

vRealize Automation integration with vRealize Operations

One of the coolest features is the enhanced integration between vRealize Operations and vRealize Automation which delivers:

Admin Friendly CLI

Version 6.2 has an Admin Friendly CLI which helps the simplification of scripting for vRealize Automation commands.

It includes enhanced Endpoint Support for:

Proxy Support:

CloudClient

CloudClient will be available as a separate download in Q4 2014 for use primarily by IT administrators. It is a command utility that provides verb-based access with a unified interface across the vCAC APIs. CloudClient will also support vCAC 6.1.
