What’s new in VMware vSphere 6?
With VMware vSphere 6 the scalability and availability improved even further and VMware further enhanced vMotion with epic features like cross vCenter vMotion, cross vSwitch vMotion and long distance vMotion. Furthermore VMware vSphere 6 marks the introduction of Virtual Volumes or vVols which allows for very granular storage policies defined from the hypervisor level.
Management is done with vCenter Server but as of this version, there’s no more difference between the installable Windows version and the vCenter Server appliance. VMware has also improved the performance of the web client so the new way to go is, management with a vCenter Server appliance through the web client.
